Warren & Denise McNeill
Warren McNeill and his wife, Denise, have been members at Monterey since 1981, attending the college class while they were students at Lubbock Christian University. They both graduated in 1982 from LCU and were married that same year. Warren has been involved in several ministries over the years at Monterey, but has spent the most time in the finance ministry and the music ministry and has been serving as a Monterey Elder since 2013. Warren currently serves as Vice President for Public Relations and Marketing at LCU. Denise has been a volunteer teacher in the elementary grades for many years at Monterey, and recently convinced Warren that it was not as dangerous as it seemed, and they now teach three out of four quarters each year in the pre-K and elementary levels. In an effort toward being environmentally friendly, Warren and Denise safely capture squirrels and have appreciated fellow elder Scott Gwinn for his willingness to turn his home and backyard into a refuge and safe zone for these cute and cuddly creatures that God made. Warren enjoys woodworking, cooking, grilling, being with family and writing jingles – perhaps his best known is “Plop, plop, fizz, fizz – Oh, what a relief it is.” His favorite passages of Scripture are found in Ephesians 3:14-21, and the Monterey staff would say that Warren possesses a gentle spirit and the gift of encouragement.
