Rob & Darla Stewart
Rob and Darla Stewart met in Monterey’s Singles/Young Professionals class in January 1985 and were married later that year. They have been active in several ministries including serving as ministry leaders and Bible class teachers. Rob previously served on the eldership from 2004 to 2017. They are founding members of the Unity Class. Darla is a children’s leader in Bible Study Fellowship, and Rob values participating in Monterey’s Men’s Bible Study. Their children are Tyne Long and husband Max of Midland, who provide their four grandsons; Tate Stewart of Plano; and Tara Souder and husband Sam of Lubbock (and Monterey), who provide their granddaughter. Rob is a professor of Communication Studies in the College of Media and Communication at Texas Tech University, and Darla is the Student Health Nurse at Lubbock Christian University. They enjoy time with family and friends, occasional traveling, church gatherings, watching British crime dramas and period pieces, and most anything involving food (particularly Sam’s BBQ).
